Pen and paper event commission done for a friend. I had a blast with the details of the... uhm, I’m not even sure what they are. But they did not survive, from what I was told. Though I heard the bard lost an arm in the quarrel.
Mostly Acrylics and markers on A3 mixed media paper.
It was a nice challenge~!
Critiques - as always - greatly appreciated
I really like the detail and line work is nice. The aura or Flame magic around the human is cool. Remind me of world of war craft or maybe fire emblem. I wish there had been some bad guys behind the human character to show how hopeless the situation is. Maybe even some blood on the orc like monsters weapons to show that the mini have fallen in the same trap. You could’ve said put a young child or maiden with the human character something to fight for, or defend. But I am just an old-fashioned romantic type. Over all awesome piece of artwork.
The Artist thought this was FAIR
17 out of 17 deviants thought this was fair.
wow it look so pretty. i really like that creatures, and the colors on this picture

I really like the whole idea of this picture
huh~ and you thought Watergate was bad ... (rimshot)
this reminds me of "Shadows of War" game. Anyway beautiful and very detailed!
Are those bugbears? Whether they are or aren't, they look good!
so beautiful and detailed!
This is great! I love how you can tell they're enemies by the opposite colour schemes
Only logical result is human dies, horribly, and slowly leaving bloody bones and shredded armour behind.
This is freaking awesome! I love the contrast between the character and the monsters!
The sword wielder in the background looks a lot like Ike from Fire Emblem.
i really like those monsters,
but are they ?
They are only monsters due to human beings inability to grasp what they can't comprehend. Some may not agree but I don't buy into the fantasy genre tropes I must admit, I prefer to look at the creatures differently from most.

Motherfucker, do you charge money from your friends? If not then it is a request, not commission. You greedy skank ass bitch nigger.
umm wow? first of all, me and my friends commission each other- and draw each other gifts all the time. its very common practice among artist friends. its not greedy. secondly you're gonna use the N word with a hard R? really?
get a life.

This is a Great piece, even if I know nothing about the characters or what's going on!
The contrast and details are so well done and compliment eachother excellently!

Magic Orc:"Hey jackass! We're in the middle of supper! GTFO!"
Wow this is just so totally wicked! Awesome job here for reals!
Looks wicked!. Is it just me or do the villains heads look kinda panther shape, with the ear placement too. And one of them kinda looks like a zombie.
my goal as I start my journey into painting, be as awesome as this
I love the Blue warrior hero, with the grey and brown villian contrast, id love to do an art trade with you one day, your an incredible artist!
I'm sorry if I'm not commenting directly about the piece of art, but - Blodd on my Name?! I friggin' love that song! And I started listening to Blues Saracenos' stuff like three weeks ago and I was so happy to see The River there too! *W*
Also amazing piece of art *aehm* Pity the bard will lose and arm, but those creatures look pretty damn strong and vicious. I love how you did their fur and the armor! *W*
A friend linked the song to me and I have been listening to it since I got that link. Which was about 4 days ago. XD I love it! 8D I got to that genre of music via Chuck Regan and his Flame In The Flood OST, btw. ^^
And thank you very much. ^^
Well, that's Pen and Paper for you: It can happen and if your dice are against you, it will most likely happen. :'D
Yeah, it's such an amazing song! *W* Never thought I'd be so much into 'dark country' as I am right now!
You're most welcome! Aaaah, so Pen and Paper is one of those ... 'roleplay' games, right? I don't know much, or anything at all about them X'D So I rather not write too much and put my foot in my mouth XD
Pfff, we can only learn if we ask questions, right? Pen and Paper is normally the name for any role playing game you play by sitting down with a few friends, each of them playing a character, and one of them telling the story.
Any action is decided by the dice, which can be influenced by how you set your character up. Though I'm not a pro either: I played a few rounds with friends, but that's it.
I wouldn't have guessed that Dark Country is even a name. But I guess I now know what I will listen to for the next weeks. d:
Ahhh, I see. Okay, now I know a bit more about it XD So, I guess it's bound to very strict rules, like for example if your character dies you can't use them again, right? I know the rules of a roleplay, where you can't do certain actions that would lead to an instant death or something god-like. It has an appeal to it, but I wouldn't know if I could handle my character dying or getting mutilated X'D
I browsed through YouTube and some songs had the tag Dark Country, so I'll call it that X'D I don't know if that's an official name.
I think this depends strongly on the game master (the one making the rules and telling the story). Some play the game as "Gamemaster against player", where killing the player is the main goal. Others prevent killing player charas completely, only letting them die if the gamer asks them for that (story related or because they want to stop playing) or when the gamer is totally retarded.
Some rps make you roll dice for your chara creation for everything. Others give you points to build up your own character, instead of relying on luck. ^^
Personally, I enjoyed both versions. It's nice to build up your own chara, but it was kinda relaxing to just roll a die and know what you'll be playing. -w- It always depends on the GM though: in the end the GM and you need to have some kind of connection or it won't work anyway.
As for the mutilated charas... that is not too rare actually. In a way that is part of the role playing: Action, reaction and when you stick your hand into the mouth of a dragon, chances are you will have to learn to hold your fork with the other hand.
Oh wow. It sure does sound interesting, I might look into that with some friends! ;D Thanks for your infos here! *W*
And I don't think any of my charas would ever stick their hand into the mouth of a dragon XD But petting one? Heck yeah X'D
