This amazing piece of artwork seems to have jumped out of a dream, the deer, the colours, the lighting....everything is perfect and i cannot find any flaws at all! The detail on the fur, horns and the sparkles on the water is stunning! The lighting is perfectly chosen. And the fact that the anatomy of the deer is unlike a real one in some parts but still manages to look breathtaking is is a true sign of a pure artist.
I would actually love to see this in a movie, you just can't stop looking at this! The artist wanted to make something calming, and it certainly turned out so.
This beautiful piece managed to evoke several things in me all at once. Starting with the head, the magnificent creature looks so noble and somehow at peace, as if he understands things are as they should be. His bearing is regal, he looks like a being out of a land of magic and ice. The deep curves of his antlers add to an aura of gentleness and seem to add to a feeling of etherealness. Adding to this are the smaller swirls on his body. His face has an almost fox-like appearance, adding to the feel of a deeper intelligence. The light adds a feel of mystery and communion with a higher power, or perhaps he IS the higher power. Next, his legs. In stark contrast with the rest of his body, for me it reminded me of the macabre. I think normally I would have felt too shocked by the contrast, but for some reason your colors, lighting, and the being himself all tie in nicely to seem . . . like even this strangeness belongs on him. For me it just added to his ephemeral appearance, in keeping with his not-quite-a-normal-deer look. The whole picture took my breath away for a moment, transporting my mind to his world and wondering where he is from and what is his role there. You stimulated my imagination, bringing to mind the old adage "A picture is worth a thousand words." Beautiful, unique, and gripping. Kudos.
