time magic by drachenmagier time magic by drachenmagier
More practice with acrylics. : D Yes, still on it~.
All traditional media and acrylics. And a bit fineliner, since the acrylics were really fighting me when it came to clear edges. ^^'

If you have any suggestions what I could try with that media or if you find something wrong/badly done, it would be fantastic if you could tell me. Always eager to learn. :)

No music this time, since I'm still searching for something new. So, if you have suggestions for Melodic Metal (epic or power), Celtic songs (celtic metal works too d: )... Shoot. :D I need inspiration~!

Beautiful as always :)

Regarding Celtic music, are you familiar with The Thistle and Shamrock? They have a 24/7 channel here www.npr.org/2012/10/04/1623174… and a weekly radio broadcast, for which they keep an extensive archive uploaded www.npr.org/series/103063413/t….

I hope that you may find something to your liking there. They have brought me many hours of enjoyment.

Acrylics let me work with a different range of colors and a very different way of creating contrast. I enjoy it quite a bit. :D

Time uncaring, unweary of life is ever the gracious, ever the cruel.
It cares not of past, it cares not to see, for it knows but the sadness of partings to be.
Ever the strong, ever so wary it flies, yearning for naught but an end to its lies.
"Eternal I am. No end will I see. Keeper of truths shall I ever be."

As for suggestions, I got nothing but an idea for the above image. That it's somehow looking at its own consciousness trapped within that glass bottle which contains our known universe, gone half mad waiting for its end so it can return to its body that just floats around staring blindly at the bottle.

Interesting take on it. I was always wondering... if you're imprisoned in a moment in time... do you feel it? Are you able to think, to *feel* that you're improisoned?

My initial idea was a moment in time, caught in a bottle. That one moment will be very important and depending how it is used, it will change the whole future. And now it's "owner" contemplates about how to use it. ^^

 Theoretically, if you were able to think it would mean your brain was still active, and electrical impulses like everything else is also bound to time, therefore if you think, time must flow. I've been thinking about such things for years, so, no, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't feel anything at all. But it does bring to mind another question. If we would never take notice if time stopped, how can we know whether or not it has happened several times already? Perhaps it is like an unstable flow of electricity, always going on and off, and if that is so, what is there to say that the end of everything will not simply be that time stops flowing?

A bottled moment of change, huh. Now that's an interesting idea.

The other question is: Would time pass if we were not aware of the passing? Which is the trigger, which is the effect? Maybe time only passes because we believe it to be passing. d: I love such lines of thought, even though I have to confess, they confuse me greatly in the end.

Well, that is true, although now you would be moving more towards the questions about how we perceive the world, seeing as all wee see, feel and experience is all electrical signals in our brain, how can we know if existence itself is not simply all in our head?
And although confusing in what might as well be 5 dimensions, what I suspect is that time itself might be something bound to energy in all its forms. It would make sense considering how time would flow differently depending on the amount of energy/mass that is present as theorized with back holes. But I guess a larger question would be if time itself is one omnipresent thing, or is it something that is produced and radiated from everything that exists?

From what I know Time is considered the fourth dimension.

But true, we have no proof that anything around us is real. The whole "moving mountains with believe" is suddenly easy, when nothing is but a dream. Though I take the suprises as proof that it's not just a dreamed up world. :) All the things that happen which I could never have thought of in the first place. That and the fact that a life which is nothing more than imagination seems a rather sad thing, doesn't it?

Time AND space actually. Can't forget the space... (Is it weird if I felt too tempted to add this www.youtube.com/watch?v=MAW2ly… specific scene here? :XD:)
But my point was that even though it's the fourth dimension, it's still confusing enough for at least five. :)

Interesting thought that. But if everything was a dream, and everything was possible for as long as we wholly believed it to be, surely the night- the time when world around us is dreaming would be the magic hours in which we could see and experience the imagination of others come to life. And that suddenly gives rise to a very interesting though when people always say monsters and ghosts are merely figments of your imagination, doesn't it? :)
And yes, a life that is nothing more than imagination- something that never truly existed is a rather sad thing. And that idea is again something I wanted to explore in the story that comes after Danu. After all, the Faerie and fairytales of old have always been something closely linked to dreams and imagination, and it just wouldn't feel right not to have such ideas included when trying to do the original and origin of faiytales justice.

This is pretty amazing. I love the colors on this one.

Have you ever tried acrylic inks? Personally, I like to use them more than the tubes of paint- or when I do use acrylic paints, I like to mix them.

I got inks for the airbrush and I use them from time to time, but the colors from the tubes are better when it comes to opaque effects. ^^ I do use the inks, but more when I have to work with watered down colors or for white.

You're welcome! :)

I've found that mixing the two- the ink and the paint, generally gives a pretty good consistency. Not too thick, not too thin. (Of course, I tend to prefer working with the paint on the thinner side, but that's just me. On the now increasingly rare occasion that I work traditionally, I generally do more straight ink work than acrylics, so it may just be my preference.) And your work is better than mine, anyway. Just an idea, if you haven't tried it yet.

Hm, it would still be less opaque, especially the brighter colors... But I will definitely try it for details! I had been fighting with that part of the paintings for way too long so far. ^^' Thanks for the tip!

Also macht man einfach eine grössere Zeichnung. Sonst...

And I kinda thought like he's manipulating a single moment that will change how the gears interact, changing the future. :) Not sure if it would work with time magic, but it sounded right when painting that one.

what else did you use in this besides acrylics?

Thanks, I'll check it later too! I got a whole list of bands and songs by now I never heard of. :D I guess I will be very busy.

I did use some black ink, because it's easier to apply and for lines... And airbrush acrylics for the white lines, since that works with a quill... But the rest is all acrylics.

Wow.... wie immer gefällt mir, was du gemacht hast!
