This is overall a beautiful, well-made piece of art!
The first thing that impacted me on this piece was the way it was executed. Three things in particular stand out:
One - I love how you've drawn the fur on the wolf. Great use of lighter colors for highlights to define the texture. I can imagine exactly what it would feel like if I were to run my and through the fur.
Two - The lighting and the way you've portrayed the glow coming from the butterflies is beautiful. I love the way it reflects off of the wolf-dude and the person next to him. And you've definitely got a great grasp of what parts of all those cylinders reflect the light, and which are still engulfed in shadows. The glow about this painting is beautiful.
Three - The composition really works well! There's a real flow to the picture. The smoke and vertically-placed cylinders really lead my eye up and down the page. I end up inspecting different parts of the picture because of it, and finding different details I'd missed out on or hadn't fully appreciated on the first run-through.
There are only a few things that I think could be an improvement.
The way wolf dude's muzzle and face are drawn, it makes his face look crooked or jagged. I'm not sure if that's even a bad thing, as you might have been going for that look. It works, but I thought I'd just mention the fact that it confused my eye a bit at first.
Also, I'm not a fan of how the tail in the bottom corner and the human character's left arm on his side are less sharp, lined, or defined than the rest of their bodies. I feel like the tail's lack of outline almost clashes with the rest of the wolf, since he's got a very definite outline on the rest of his body.
Overall, this is a wonderful piece of art, and I had to think very hard to figure out what would have improved it in my mind. You're an amazing artist.
