The old Busstop by drachenmagier The old Busstop by drachenmagier
Just because one does not notice something or someone, does not mean it's not there. :)

Finally started to work with acrylics for real instead of just using it for white effects. I can only say: Fun to work with! 8D While coloring I was mostly listening to the OST of Infinite Undiscovery. www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8Co13…

Acrylics and Markers on A3-Mixed Media Paper.

and one day I will get the hang of viewpoints and correct that shield. d:

I just have to write a Critique O___O
This picture caught me !
I thought its Digital at first, but then read that its Traditional, amazing !!

5 Stars for Vision: The Atmosphere is pretty damn amazing, it kinda dark and creppy on the one hand and extremly full of lights on the other hand :)

5 Stars for Originality : Do I really need to explain why ?
Ok, ill do it anyway ;D
The Idea is amazing, and I love how it turned out. These creatures are amazing...just breathtaking...

5 Stars for Technique: Like I said before, this looks Digital work to me, thats why it is just more amazing that its Traditional in real xd
The Details( Feathers,cobbles,Lights...) are just amazingly worked out, I love how the lights and Shadows are set.Perfect use of Markers and Acrylic !

5 Stars for Impact: The Impact is just breathtaking, it really would be scary to have such creatures around you while your waiting^^
But Iam still amazed from the Idea and its great to see it the other way around, to see the creatures instead of the humans :D

A Masterpiece, I cant stop looking at it !

Great work, keep it up ;)

This piece immediately caught my eye while I was browsing. It is an interesting blend of light and dark, and I am intrigued by the choice of having the creatures in full form, while the humans around them are merely a ghost-like impression of a proper form.
I also like the buildings in the background: using more castle-like shapes instead of more modern architecture adds to the fantasy feel of the piece.

I only gave three and a half stars for originality because I have seen some images and films with this same idea, but you still managed to pull it off in a new way.

I do have to wonder what these creatures are looking at over to the right. Possibly the bus? Well, either way, it is a beautifully done piece, especially considering it was done in a medium you are unaccustomed to. Congratulations!

I know this is an older piece of yours, but I'd just like to say the weirdest thing about this piece for me is it's like it was pulled from a specific dream I had years ago - the owl griffins, the gaslight streetlamp, the cobblestones, the lighting - like there was stuff in my dream that was different but so much of what I see here reminds me of that dream, and I just kinda find it really neat that you made something that reminds me of that dream.

Anyways, good work!

I think this one was mostly done with fineliners and watercolour, then acrylics for the details and light effects. ^^ Though it had been a while since I painted that one.

The mood and atmosphere of this piece are absolutely incredible. Like, crazy good. This is beautiful!

My only critique, if any, would be that I don't necessarily think you need to outline the main figures in white. I noticed this in some of your newer works too, and it totally makes sense as highlights in some places (like the wing of the creature in the back - that looks like a legitimate highlight), but in other places it just looks like an outline. It's not that big of a deal, and I still love your art either way, but I think purposely placed bright highlights would be more effective, and enhance the mood even more.

Other than that, I really do love this!Love

Thank you very much~!

I'm currently experimenting with both a bit: More and less outlines. ^^ I think if I redid the idea from the bus stop drawing, I would now just use the shape of humans without outline: Now I have better masking fluid, which would make that far easier. :D Then I had to use the white outline to mask the mistakes I had made. d:

(AH sorry for late-ish response!)

I've seen that you have been doing both now, which I like just for the fact that you are trying different styles (I personally always like experimenting with new techniques/ mediums because they're all so interesting), and your art definitely continues to improve. And I just have to say I didn't even think about if being partly because of masking fluid - and in that case I totally see why it was that way (I was just being nitpicky just to get you thoughts on the matter :P  ). But either way it's still incredible, and I absolutely love it! Love

WOW!! This immediately caught my eye! I freaken love your art style! It's so unique and beautiful. You did a great job on the contrast between lighting and shadows. It just looks so perfect! There is something about the creatures that looks so mysterious. They are beautiful yet creepy at the same time, but not in a bad way. And what are those creatures supposed to be? Dragon owl thingies? And are those transparent people supposed to be ghosts or spirits?

I normally don't go with the classic definition of good and bad. :) So, everything can be bad or good, depending on your point of view.

And happy to hear you're trying acrylics out now too! It's a fun material and I like how you can use it either as a thick layer or watercolour like and thin. =^^= So many possible ways to work with it!
