The city of pillars, 1000 years after you saw it for the first time.
Wind dragons have now taken over the ruins of the former civilisation, using the high pillars as their play- and nesting grounds. The previously dark spires are no longer devoid of life.
Painted with acrylics on a copy of the initial painting. Fun technique, I have to try around some more with that.
What a majestic city. The choice of painting over an existing painting of yours is really interesting, however, I heard that 1000 years have passed, we would like to see more collapsed towers, and architectural alternations, if I make sense.
All this touches of green here and there is the painting bring a lot to the composition, you made a really good choice of color to me.
I acknowledge, maybe your vision of the city is not the most original, but the way you painted clouds really bring something else.
Also, we should not forget that it's a dipict painting, I think it's rare enough on DA, to be mentionned.
The medium is used as it perfection to me, even thought it was digital in the first place.
It's an amazing piece, full of a feel of softness, and a great inspiration for us all
that was my first crit on DA ever hope it's not to confusing X3
This is gorgeous! I love your style, how you outlined the cloud edges. The green of the trees mix beautifully with the blue clouds, creating a very surreal feel. I love it!
Thanks! Indeed, they are quite interesting. Especially the fact that you can paint over everything. The whole evolution of the drawing is layered onto the paper, instead of having to be corrected every time like with watercolors. ^^ I really love that!
Aaah, exactly! It's like working in layers. aand you paint on any type of 'canvas' as well - I use a thick bristol board. Finally someone who appreciates acrylics!
I'm not sure if you can say that I appreciate it really by now. But I like a few of the things that are only possible with this media. Though oils could work in a very similar way. I have to try that too.
