Haven't been working with pencils in quite a while. So, tried that again. Coloring metallic surfaces with pencils is just great~. I keep forgetting that there is nothing better there, at least in my eyes.
Frills and armor. Best combo on every battlefield, if you ask me. d:
I love the fun changing and intertwining colors and fine detailing you put into this! Especially the transparent fabric!!! The weapon has such a neat design as well. This is stunning! I'm afraid I can't give much more insight on further technique because of my lack of skills with colored pencil, but I think yours is a perfect example! Fine crisp lines and stunning colors to boot!
If I could where to say one thing that could be added to this, I would recommend a background or something to further bring out the character. But as it is now it's still delightful!
Original characters are, in my opinion, more interesting to draw than pre-existing characters. You are allowed more freedom with the design and pose, not to mention the coloring. You certainly seem to embrace this to the fullest. Alas, however, armored females carrying big swords aren't exactly the most original thing nowadays- however, among all those femme fatales to cross my path over the years, I don't think that I've ever seen an elf (or your elf-equivalent) wield a massive sword. In an age when the presentation of a concept, not the concept itself, is paramount, this drawing certainly is ahead of the pack for that bold stroke alone. Bearing in mind how tough it is to use colored pencils, not to mention coloring to properly convey textures, your technique is outstanding. My particular favorite is how you rendered the hair in the lower-right corner. In addition, the detail you worked into the blade (not to mention how you shaded it) really adds some "oomph" to the drawing. All in all, this is an excellent drawing wholly deserving its position on the front page. You should be proud of yourself.
